Qualcomm has unveiled its next-generation chipset for flagship Android phones. Qualcomm says that this is its most powerful processor and it will run on high-end smartphones. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is based on 4nm manufacturing process

The latest flagship chip from the company is based on 4nm process which results in better power and thermal efficiency.


Features new Kryo CPU for improved performance

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 features the new Kryo CPU with ARM Cortex A2 technology clocked at up to 3.0GHz.


All-new Adreno GPU offers improved gaming performance

The chipset is also paired with Qualcomm Adreno 660 GPU. The company says that the GPU has been re-architected to deliver 30% more power and 25% more efficiency than the predecessor. The chip also includes volumetric rendering and a frame motion engine to offer more detailed graphics rendering.


Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 features ‘world’s fastest’ 5G modem

The new chip comes with the most-advanced connectivity features allowing for faster download speeds over the 5G network. The updated X65 5G modem is the world’s first to offer 10 Gigabit download speeds and is also the first 3GPP Release 16 5G solution.


Features latest Wi-Fi and Bluetooth standards

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 comes with FastConnect 6900 Mobile Connectivity that includes support for Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E capable of offering up to 3.6Gbps. The chip also comes with Bluetooth 5.2 support.


Snapdragon Sound technology brings improvements to overall audio quality

Qualcomm has added integrated Bluetooth audio and Snapdragon Sound Technology to the chip which enables seamless phone calls and entertainment.


Supports aptX Lossless Technology

The latest flagship also features Qualcomm aptX Lossless Technology for CD-quality lossless wireless audio as well as new LE audio for features such as broadcast audio, stereo recording, and voice back-channel.


Snapdragon Sight: Better low light photography, face detection

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 comes with Snapdragon Sight Camera Technology. The new technology includes the first 18-bit ISP brings improved low light photography with its mega night mode that captures 30 images and merges them together to create one brighter, detailed photo without any blurs. The company has also made face detection and focusing faster than before.
