Asus ZenBook 14 Flip OLED review: A complete package – Gadgets Now

Asus ZenBook 14 Flip OLED has an aluminium alloy lid and chassis. The laptop feels sturdy and features an ergo-lift design with 360-degree rotation. Thanks to the ergo-lift design, the keyboard is automatically tilted when the laptop is opened. It surely offers more comfortable typing and also increases the ventilation space under the chassis for better heat dissipation. The company says that the laptop’s durability has been tested for more than 20,000 open/close cycles. Also, it comes with a MIL-STD 810H durability standard.

The laptop is offered in black colour with a matte finish. The design looks premium and gives it a classy look. The flap of the device has Asus written on top, placed inside the signature concentric circles. The surface is not a fingerprint magnet. But it is also not entirely smudge-free and you will see a few marks here and there.

Asus ZenBook 14 Flip OLED has a backlit keyboard with three levels of brightness. The keyboard here is really good with comfortable key travel and sufficient space between the keys. There are dedicated mute keys that allow users to quickly mute audio and video during online meetings. These keys definitely come in handy. Also, the power button also acts as a fingerprint reader. The fingerprint scanner works really quick and allows you to unlock the device in a few seconds.

Trackpad of the ZenBook 14 Flip OLED is smooth and responsive. The touchpad makes up for the absence of a physical numeric keypad. A single-touch at the top right of the touchpad turns on/off the number pad. Users can choose from two levels of brightness of the touchpad with a tap on the icon at the top left.

Connectivity ports on the new laptop are 2x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C ports. Both these ports support data transfer, charging as well as video output. There is also a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A port, 1 x standard HDMI 2.1, 1 x microSD card reader and 1 x audio jack. For wireless connections, the ZenBook 14 Flip OLED offers Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi 6. It can support internet speeds of up to 2.4Gbps.

The laptop weighs 1.4kg and is portable enough to carry around. Asus provides a laptop sleeve with the device out-of-the-box.
