Boult Audio ProBass Curve-X are an entry-level Bluetooth neckband from Boult Audio. Priced at Rs 999, the earphones add to the long list of entry-level Bluetooth neckbands available in the market. The device comes with fast charging support, extra bass and IPX5 water resistance. We had the opportunity to use the black variant of the device. Here’s what we think about the Boult Audio ProBass Curve-X
Boult Audio ProBass Curve-X: Design
The Boult Audio ProBass Curve X‘s comes in neckband design. The neckband is made of silicone and is flexible with an adjustable clip. There are hooks, or ear-fins, to ensure that they stay firmly in the wearer’s ear while using. The ends are magnetised so they stick to each other. The buds that come with the earphone are comfortable to wear but you will definitely feel that it could have been a little better because it adds a sense of uneasiness after a point in time. A user will get two additional pairs of soft earbuds with the device. Although it’s sturdy, the body gets a bit squeaky when the user touches the buttons to pause or turn the volume up or down. If you are using it for a long time, then you are bound to get some sort of squeaky noise from the buttons.
Boult Audio ProBass Curve-X: Performance and battery
Boult Audio ProBass Curve-X definitely comes with a long battery life. The company claims that it would last around 15 hours on a full charge but for me, it lasted around 12 hours in one go. Well, that’s quite a lot for the price. The plus is, the device is sweat proof. So, if you are planning to carry it to the gym, you can very well do that without any hesitation. When it comes to the sound, yes — as defined in its name — the device is a little bass heavy and if you expect to get clarity at a lower volume, then you might be a little disappointed. But then, this product is aimed at bass-heavy listeners. While trying my hand at the device, I tried playing old Bollywood numbers to Blinding Lights by The Weekend. And, yes, I definitely liked the latter due to its bass-heavy production. The 10 min =10 hours of battery is also a promise fulfilled. The device takes nearly half an hour to get fully charged but then you can drift along flawlessly without having to worry about whether you’ll have to get it juiced up soon. Most importantly, the device connects flawlessly once it is turned on. The best part about the neckband is that it comes with a Type-C charging point since most smartphones — from budget to flagship — have moved to this mode.
Boult Audio ProBass Curve-X: Verdict
If you are starting off, then this is definitely the right choice. To be honest, the built quality of the product could have been better. Also, the rubber that comes fitted with the buds, could have a little less rubbery feel to it. This product is a perfect buy for people, who want some loud music while they hit the gym or jog in the morning and are looking for a real affordable option. If you are an …….
