Philips TAH6506BK review: Value for money – Gadgets Now
Philips TAH6506BK comes with 32mm neodymium drivers. It delivers crisp audio with a deep bass effect which surely many will appreciate. Vocals come clear. Channel separation was decent and clear from right to left. At Rs 6,999, the headphone lives up to expectation and will not disappoint you.
A major highlight of the device is the active noise cancellation (ANC). It can be turned on/off with the button placed on the right ear cup. The headphone has two microphones that aid in the ANC feature. Noise cancellation is decent on the headphone and blocks out background noise to a great extent. Although you will still be aware of your surroundings.
The headphone works with both Android and iOS phones along with Windows laptops. It connects with other devices using Bluetooth version 5.0. It offers dual-pairing ability which means it can connect with two devices simultaneously. The device has a connectivity range of the standard 10 meters. We did not face any problem when in the vicinity of the paired device, though the connectivity started breaking once you are out of the range.
We did not face any issue while talking on calls using the Philips TAH6506BK. It comes with support for both Google Assistant and Siri. What we find missing on this Philips headphone is the IP rating. The device is not resistant to sweat or dust, which is a disappointment.
Philips does not specify the battery capacity of the headphone. But claims that it can last up to 30 hours with ANC off and up to 25 hours with ANC on. We tested the device for a mix of the ANC feature turned on and off and found that the headphone can last for pretty decent long hours. The Philips TAH6506BK will not be a disappointment in terms of battery life. For charging, it comes with a USB Type-C port and a cable. It offers fast charging as well.
