Railway recruitment exam: 8 arrested for cheating – Times of India

NOIDA: Eight candidates, appearing for railway recruitment exams, were arrested on Tuesday from Sector 62 for allegedly using unfair means to clear the examination.
As per police, those arrested have been identified as Pravesh Bansal, Ravi Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Monu Singh, Rajat Singh, Parmindar and Praveen Kumar. One of them hailed from Delhi, three from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh and four from Sonipat in Haryana, police said.
“On Tuesday, the invigilators and staff on duty informed police that a few candidates were found using electronic communication devices during the RRC Level 1 exam that was conducted at one of the centres in Sector 62,” said Vivek Trivedi, incharge of Sector 58 police station. The invigilators and flying squad found some candidates looked suspicious. On checking, Bluetooth devices, wireless earphones and other devices were recovered from their possession.
“During investigations, it was found that these eight candidates were using the gadgets to cheat and clear the exams. It is being checked how they were able to bring these gadgets inside the examination centre breaching the multi-layered checking on the premises,” Trivedi said. The officer further said that an FIR has been lodged at the Sector 58 police station under Section 420 (cheating) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Public Examination Act and the Information Technology Act.
