Tronsmart Studio review: plenty of power in this budget-priced Bluetooth speaker – Buzz.ie

Tronsmart is a Chinese brand that delivers generally pleasing and affordable audio products.

It releases so many portable Bluetooth speakers it’s hard to keep track.

The aluminium-cased matte black Tronsmart Studio has a few unique features that make it stand out.

Soundpulse is an audio processing setting within the Tronsmart app that delivers a more uniform sound across music from different eras and styles.

TuneConn is a feature I could not test but sounds great — it enables you to sync up to 100 of these speakers through Bluetooth if you ever wanted to throw a monster party.

The impressive 15-hour battery life from the 2500mAh power pack is probably going to be bigger selling point, however.

The front of Tronsmart Studio

There is USB-C recharging but it is not terribly fast; a full refuel takes more than three hours.

Audio quality

Audio quality is better than what you would expect at this point, with three drivers and four passive radiators, not to mention an ample 30W of RMS output.

For the price point, what you get in terms of audio quality is impressive. Clean and crisp tops and mids with plenty of depth and presence in the bottom end. And there is no noticeable distortion even at louder volumes.

Connectivity is Bluetooth 5.0 and you get support for Google assistant too.

The rear of Tronsmart Studio

There is an auxiliary port on the rear and a micro-SD card slot to give you other options too for sourcing your content.

If you choose Bluetooth you will get stable coverage for up to about 30 feet away from your phone or tablet.

A free companion app enables you to adjust the sound profiles with the build-in equaliser. The iOS and Android app is also used to install any firmware updates.

Controls on the top of Tronsmart Studio

But for day to day use, the speaker is controlled by a series of well laid out large buttons on the top of the unit.

Verdict

The design of Tronsmart Studio is a little dated but what’s inside makes up for it.

Pricing

Tronsmart Studio £49.99 (€58.70) from amazon.co.uk
